A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 was recorded close to the Northern Kuril Islands within the Pacific Ocean, based on Interfax, citing the Sakhalin department of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Residents in Severo-Kurilsk reported feeling the tremors, with the shaking reaching an depth of three to 4 on the native magnitude scale, based on company sources.

Authorities haven’t issued a tsunami warning, and there aren’t any speedy reviews of harm or casualties.
