Dropping a pin on Google Maps helps users to identify and share the exact location of a place with others. It is an easy and convenient way to find a place and get directions to it. Dropping pins also allows users to save specific locations they may want to revisit in the future. With this feature, Google Maps makes it easier for users to navigate their way around unfamiliar places with ease.
To pin a trip from a directions search:
- On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app Maps.
- Search for a destination and tap Directions.
- Select a transportation mode. If you select Transit, choose your preferred route.
- At the bottom, tap Pin .
To pin a trip from the Go tab:
- On your mobile device, open the Google Maps app Maps.
- At the bottom, tap Go Go.
- To get a list of suggested trips, in the bottom bar, swipe up.
- Find the trip you want and, on the right, tap Pin .
