“Inline with article 176 of the constitution, the Supreme National Security Council has approved the establishment of the country’s Defense Council,” the SBSC’s secretariat stated in a press release. The council shall be tasked to elaborate plans for the protection of the nation and boosting the Iranian military’s fight capabilities.

This choice was made amid US President Donald Trump’s threats to hit Iranian nuclear websites if he sees that Tehran is in search of to revive its nuclear potential. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned about Iran’s sturdy response in case of recurrent aggression.
