NAIROBI, Kenya, July 28 – The tenth version of the Africa Tech Challenge (ATC) has formally launched on the Technical University of Kenya (TUK), spotlighting high-demand technical expertise in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), mechanical drawing, and cell utility growth.

Organizers say the shift displays a strategic push to align youth coaching with evolving business wants in Africa’s manufacturing and digital sectors.

A complete of 568 contributors, grouped into 142 groups, are competing from 12 African international locations, together with Kenya, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Top-performing groups will safe coaching alternatives in China to organize for the WorldSkills Competition, whereas excellent people will obtain scholarships for additional examine.

For contributors like Mercy Njoki, an engineering pupil at TUK, the expertise is invaluable.

Since its inception in 2014, the Africa Tech Challenge has skilled over 1,000 youth throughout the continent and is credited with taking part in a key position in nurturing Africa’s subsequent era of engineering and tech professionals.
