ACSA Appoints Mary-Ann Joubert To Act As Group Executive: Enterprise Security And Compliance

Johannesburg – The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has appointed Mary-Ann Joubert to behave as Group Executive: Enterprise Security and Compliance (GE: ESC).

The transfer follows the suspension of the GE: ESC Lt. General (Ret.) Mazwandile Petros over allegations of “operational irregularities”.

ACSA introduced Friday,11 July 2025, that it had

positioned the GE: ESC “on precautionary suspension pending the end result of an unbiased investigation into allegations of operational irregularities”.

ACSA mentioned: “The determination to put the GE: ESC on precautionary suspension is a vital measure to guard the integrity of the investigative course of and any present and subsequent processes.

“The day-to-day features of ACSA is not going to be affected by this determination.

“In the interim, Ms. Mary-Ann Joubert has been appointed to behave as GE: ESC to make sure continuity and keep operational stability.”

ACSA didn’t give any particulars of the alleged “operational irregularities” that led to Petros being suspended.

However, earlier this 12 months IOL reported that an investigation revealed that Petros accredited the acquisition of 36 Explosive Trace Detection models from Mafoko Security for a staggering R40 million in July 2022.

At the time IOL mentioned the choice was below scrutiny for its questionable nature and potential misuse of taxpayer funds.

ACSA mentioned it would report again as soon as the matter is finalised.
