U.S. President Donald Trump introduced Monday he plans to “substantially” increase tariffs on India, citing the nation’s purchases and gross sales of Russian oil amid the continued battle in Ukraine, News.az stories citing Xinhua.
In a submit on his Truth Social platform, Trump accused India of making the most of Russian oil transactions whereas disregarding the humanitarian affect of the conflict.
“India is not only buying massive amounts of Russian Oil, they are then, for much of the Oil purchased, selling it on the Open Market for big profits,” Trump wrote. “They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine.”
The president didn’t specify the timing or actual scale of the proposed tariff will increase, however signed the message as “President DJT” and concluded with “Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!”
