Property homeowners face Sh10mn fines for locking out competing web companies

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 24 – Property homeowners face a Sh10 million high-quality or as much as 5 years imprisonment for locking out competing Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from their very own premises because the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) begins a crackdown.

Data from the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) reveals that Safaricom dominates the native ISP market with 36.6 p.c market share, adopted by Jamii Telecommunications (24.4 p.c), Wananchi Group (16.8 p.c), and Poa Internet (12.6 p.c).
