DCI Arrests Woman Accused of Conning Chinese National in Ksh13M Aluminium Scam

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, June 20, revealed the arrest of a Kenyan girl who had allegedly conned a Chinese nationwide out of Ksh 13 million (USD 101,100).

“A 38-year-old girl has been apprehended by Kamukunji detectives for her position in a daring rip-off that deceived a Chinese nationwide out of USD 101,000 (Ksh 13M),” the DCI said.

In an announcement, the detectives detailed how the girl posed because the director of an area scrap buying and selling firm and claimed she was ready to produce the person with aluminium alloys.

As a part of her elaborate scheme, she supplied the sufferer with a solid invoice of lading and a counterfeit Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) certificates of conformity.
