There are three main error codes you should expect and in this post we will be looking at those and some of the ways to fix them.

DStv Error E16 (what does Error E16 mean on DStv)
The first one on the list is the DStv error E16. What this error means is that the service is scrambled temporarily. With that, transmission on your smartcard may be temporarily suspended.
How do I clear E16 error on DStv?
To fix this error, Press MENU on the remote control and then press 4 to check your Mail Messages. If you see a notification from DStv about payment for your account, you will need to pay for the subscription before you get back transmission.
In cases where you have paid for the subscription, you can reset your account by dialling *423# or by going to DStv’s website.
DStv Error E30
The second common error is the DStv error E30. This error basically means there is a problem checking your subscription status. In such cases, the smartcard is not able to connect to the satellite transmission to verify subscription status.
How do I clear Error E30 on DStv?
There are a couple of things that can be done to fix DStv error E30. The first thing to do is to ensure the cables from the satellite dish are securely connected to the right inputs on your decoder. With that done, switch off the decoder at the wall plug and switch it back on after 10 seconds.
You can also reset your account by dialling *423# or by going to DStv’s website.
DStv Error E32
This might be the error you encounter on a regular basis. This error can be caused by a few things such as not having switched or activated your smartcard or the channel that you are trying to view may not be part of your package.
How do I clear E32 error on DStv?
To fix this error, just dial *423# when on a channel that is part of your subscription. Do not change the channel when you reset your decoder to allow it to receive the update.
