Premium services are subscription-based services that are used to deliver various content to mobile subscribers. They could be information services such as breaking news, sports or entertainment news, games, music, betting tips, and the list goes on.
These services are run by third-party companies and not by the mobile networks per se. The networks merely license them to run these products however they make money from it. Unfortunately, these services have been and continue to be used by some of these entities to make money from unsuspecting mobile users through unscrupulous means.
Here is how to unsubscribe.
From your phone’s dial pad;
- If you are on Prepay, dial *100# and on Postpay dial *200#
- From the pop-up menu that appears on your screen, you will get a list of options as seen above, select Premium Rate Services
- In the Premium Services option, select My Subscriptions
- A list with all the Premium services you are subscribed to will be shown
- Then, you have an option to unsubscribe to each or all of them.
Or;
- If you are on Prepay, dial *456*20#
- From the pop-up menu that appears on your screen, a list with all the Premium services you are subscribed to will be shown
- Then, you have an option to unsubscribe to each or all of them.
- Select Unsubscribe from all
- Then confirm the unsubscription from all
In case you need to get any of them back, all that you will need to do is the first two steps, select buy services and you will have a list of services in 7 categories; these being news, music, sports, inspiration, job search, dating, and goal.
